From February 14 to 16, 2025, Klub Stepinac set off on its first trip to Canada of the year: a weekend with our friends from HKUD Kralj Zvonimir, the folklore group of the Queen of Peace Croatian Franciscan Centre in Norval, Ontario.
Our bus left St. Jerome early on Friday morning, passports in hand. After the long drive and a group dinner at Croatia Restaurant in Mississauga, we headed to the Norval hall for a Friday-night party with our hosts.
On Saturday evening, Klub Stepinac took the stage at Anapilis Hall in Mississauga, and after the performance the celebration continued with a banquet in the same hall. It was a night of dancing, music and new friendships.
On Sunday morning we joined the Queen of Peace parish community for Holy Mass, followed by lunch at the parish, before heading home to Chicago.
Weekends like this are what Klub Stepinac is all about: sharing our songs and dances and building friendships across borders. That is why we were so happy to welcome Kralj Zvonimir to Chicago in turn for our 2026 Annual Concert.
Thank you to our performers, to our instructors, to the parents and chaperones who traveled with the group, and to our hosts in Norval for their warm welcome. Hvala!
